Last updated: 3 September 2026

Ola The Label, ABN 48 729 096 387 ("Ola", "we", "us" or "our"), respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly and transparently.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you visit or shop at www.olathelabel.com.au, contact us, join The Circle, subscribe to marketing, enter a promotion, submit a review or otherwise interact with us.

We manage personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us, and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Where we carry on business in New Zealand, we also manage New Zealand customers' personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Personal information we collect

The types of personal information we may collect include:

  • your name, delivery address, billing address, email address and telephone number;

  • account details, login information and saved preferences;

  • order, payment, delivery, return, exchange and customer-service information;

  • information connected with The Circle, including points, rewards, tier status, referrals and birthday information you choose to provide;

  • marketing preferences and records of your consent, subscriptions and unsubscribes;

  • reviews, survey responses, competition entries, photographs, videos, social-media handles and other content you submit or share with us;

  • information about your device and use of our website, including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location, referring pages, pages viewed, searches, clicks and time spent on the website;

  • cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers and information about how you interact with our emails, SMS messages and advertisements;

  • fraud, security and risk information associated with an order or account; and

  • any other information you voluntarily provide to us.

We do not generally collect sensitive information. If you voluntarily provide sensitive information to us, we will handle it only for the purpose for which it was provided or as otherwise permitted by law.

2. How we collect personal information

We may collect personal information:

  • directly from you when you place an order, create an account, make a return, contact us, join The Circle, subscribe to marketing, enter a promotion or submit content;

  • automatically when you use our website, emails or advertisements through cookies, pixels and similar technologies;

  • from Shopify and service providers that help us operate our store and fulfil your requests;

  • from payment providers, delivery providers, returns providers and fraud-prevention services;

  • from marketing, analytics, advertising, loyalty and review platforms;

  • from social-media platforms when you interact with or tag Ola; and

  • from another person where they purchase a gift, make a referral or otherwise provide your details to us.

If you provide personal information about another person, you must have their permission to do so.

You may browse much of our website without identifying yourself. However, if you do not provide information required to process an order or request, we may not be able to supply the relevant product or service.

3. How we use personal information

We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:

  • process payments and fulfil, deliver and manage orders;

  • provide accounts, returns, store credit, gift cards and customer support;

  • operate The Circle and administer points, rewards, tiers and referrals;

  • send transactional messages about orders, accounts, deliveries, returns and rewards;

  • send marketing by email or SMS where we have consent or are otherwise permitted by law;

  • provide back-in-stock alerts and abandoned-checkout or browse-abandonment messages;

  • personalise the website, products, offers and advertising shown to you;

  • administer reviews, surveys, competitions and promotions;

  • understand website and campaign performance and improve our products, services and customer experience;

  • detect, investigate and prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents and unlawful activity;

  • enforce our Terms and Conditions and protect our legal rights;

  • meet our accounting, taxation, regulatory and legal obligations; and

  • manage a proposed or completed sale, restructure or transfer of all or part of our business.

We may also use information in an aggregated or de-identified form where it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

4. Automated fraud and risk screening

We and our ecommerce and payment providers use automated fraud and risk-screening tools in connection with orders. These tools may assess information such as your contact and order details, payment and transaction information, device and browser information, IP address, approximate location, order history and fraud-risk indicators.

Automated screening may result in an order being flagged, held, declined, cancelled or referred for verification. This may affect your ability to complete a purchase. If you believe an order has been incorrectly affected, contact us at hello@olathelabel.com.au and request a review.

5. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, software development tools and similar technologies to:

  • keep the website and checkout functioning;

  • remember your preferences and shopping bag;

  • measure website traffic and performance;

  • understand how customers use our website and communications;

  • personalise content and offers;

  • deliver and measure advertising; and

  • help detect fraud and maintain security.

Some technologies are provided by analytics and advertising partners and may recognise your browser or device across different websites or services.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, through the privacy or cookie controls displayed on our website. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website or checkout functions.

6. Email and SMS marketing

We may send marketing emails or SMS messages where you have expressly consented or where consent can lawfully be inferred. We keep appropriate records of marketing consent.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying STOP to an SMS where that option is provided, or contacting us at hello@olathelabel.com.au. We will action an unsubscribe request within five working days. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential messages relating to an order, payment, account, return or other transaction.

7. When we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information to trusted third parties that help us operate the business, including:

  • Shopify and ecommerce hosting and technology providers;

  • payment gateways, banks and buy-now-pay-later providers;

  • warehousing, delivery, logistics and returns providers;

  • email, SMS and customer-communication providers;

  • loyalty, referral, review, survey and user-content platforms;

  • analytics, personalisation and website-performance providers;

  • advertising and social-media platforms;

  • fraud-prevention, cybersecurity and technical-support providers;

  • professional advisers, insurers, auditors and financial-service providers;

  • regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies and other parties where required or authorised by law; and

  • a purchaser, investor or adviser involved in a proposed or completed business sale, merger or restructure.

Advertising partners may receive identifiers and information about website, purchase or campaign interactions so they can deliver, personalise and measure advertising. We do not sell customer lists or personal information for money.

Our service providers may handle personal information only to provide services to us, in accordance with their own legal obligations and the arrangements we have with them.

8. Overseas disclosure and processing

Some of our service providers operate or store information outside Australia. As a result, personal information may be disclosed to or processed in countries including New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, countries in the European Economic Area and Israel, as well as other locations in which our providers or their subcontractors operate.

Privacy protections in another country may differ from those in Australia. Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information appropriately.

9. Payments

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Ola does not generally receive or store your complete payment-card number. Payment providers handle payment information under their own privacy policies and security requirements.

10. How long we keep personal information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfil orders, provide customer support, administer accounts and rewards, maintain fraud and consent records, resolve disputes and satisfy accounting, taxation and legal obligations.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is held. Transaction and business records may be retained for at least the period required by applicable taxation and corporate record-keeping laws. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy it or de-identify it, subject to technical and legal limitations.

11. Security and data breaches

We take reasonable technical, organisational and physical steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These measures include limiting access to those who need it and using reputable service providers and security controls appropriate to our operations.

No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure. If a data breach occurs, we will investigate and take appropriate remedial action. Where required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and affected individuals of an eligible data breach likely to result in serious harm.

12. Access, correction and deletion requests

You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information. You may also ask us to delete information. Deletion is not absolute, and we may need to retain information for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or other legitimate purposes.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond within a reasonable period and will explain if we cannot fulfil all or part of a request. We will not charge for making a request, although the law may permit a reasonable charge for providing access in some circumstances.

13. Privacy complaints

If you have a concern or complaint about how we have handled personal information, contact us using the details below and provide enough information for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and investigate the complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response and the Australian Privacy Act applies to the matter, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

If you are in New Zealand, you may also contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.

14. Third-party websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party you interact with.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, providers or legal obligations. The updated version will be published on our website with a revised "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice where appropriate.
