How often should you replace your underwear?

So we know that we should wash our underwear after each wear, but is there a rule around when we should replace our underwear? There most certainly is! 

Studies show that underwear should be replaced 6-12 monthly depending on your activity levels and washing style. Failure to do allows bugs such as E. coli and dust mites to flourish, causing problems from urinary tract infections to thrush and even allergies.
