Let's talk about Impact and Sustainability....

Sustainability to us became apparent when we first started researching and developing our company. 
Being a small business in a product based industry can be frightening when it comes to sustainability, we have manufacturers and large organisations that we have to trust and rely on to ensure they’re doing their best! 

Let's start of by letting you know our head office which includes all of our Founders, Warehouse & Customer Service Staff is located on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. All of our team - think design, warehouse operations and customer service is based at this location, This means whenever you are talking to us you know we live & breathe Ola and your order is being picked, packed and shipped with love by one of the Ola Queens. 

MANUFACTURING 

Whilst here in Australia we are doing our best to make sure our products are being made with the best materials we can find. 
Our products are made with specialised machines not available in Australia so to offset this we have made sure we use local Australian companies for any supplies we can. Ensuring we still play our part by keeping jobs in Australia.

We focus on sustainability within our designs, we order to ensure minimal wastage of products, this may mean you notice more items out of stock than others but it also gives you the reassurance that we are doing our part in saving the world  environment.

We've designed our core range and several other products using seamless manufacturing. This process involves laser cutting the fabric without the need for seams. It's good for the environment for a few reasons:
Firstly, using seamless designs means we need less fabric to make each garment. This is awesome for waste too since there's minimal excess fabric discarded in the process.
On top of that, these seamless garments are more durable. Without those traditional seams, they're less prone to wear and tear, so they last longer. And you know what that means? Less frequent replacements, which means less overall waste. 

We hold our suppliers to high standards. We carefully select and test all our suppliers to ensure they comply with BSCI Standards, this means they are regularly audited for:  workers protection, no discrimination, fair pay, safe working conditions, no child or bonded labour,  really we want to make sure there is no sketchy employment situations.

It's all about creating a positive impact and making sure our products are made with care and compassion every step of the way. So, when you choose us, you're not only getting fantastic quality products, but you're also making the world a better place. High five to that! 🙌🌟

PACKAGING AND SHIPPING

We know that packaging can end up as one of the most common items in bins, streets, or even the sea. So, we took action to make sure we're doing our part to reduce waste and keep our planet happy.

First things first, we're all about reusing and recycling. We carefully choose packaging materials that can be reused or easily recycled, so you won't have to worry about contributing to unnecessary waste.
To step it up even further, we've ditched those pesky plastic postage bags! Instead, we use 100% biodegradable postage bags to send your items on their way. It's a small change that makes a big impact on the environment.

All of our Shipping Partners are Carbon Neutral and we always opt for paperless options.

When it comes to our own packaging, we've embraced the minimalist approach. By keeping it simple, we're reducing our environmental footprint and ensuring that every bit counts in making the world a cleaner place.
So, when your Ola products arrive, you can feel good in your skin knowing that you're also doing your bit for the environment 🌎📦

Charity and social contributions

We make contributions to support various local and Australia wide charities. Through out the year we randomly include our faulty stock, that is still wearable (ie a small pen mark etc) in packages for our loyal customers this is a way we reduce landfill and give back to our community. We sponsor many local sporting teams and are strong advocates in Women in Sports - GO GIRLS!

Let us be completely honest, we are still learning and growing as a company. We are always looking at ways to improve our impact & sustainability practices. We don't have all the solutions right now but we truly believe that progress towards our goals is better than waiting on perfection. We thank you for your support whilst we grow & learn ☘️
